A quick, nourishing hot chocolate mix made from the same nutrient-dense ingredients as the Creamy Milk-Style Chocolate recipe. Just stir into hot milk for an instant treat.
PREP: 10 mins ⏱️ MAKES: ~6 servings ☕
Ingredients
-
100g 95% cacao chocolate, finely chopped
-
10g grass-fed salted butter 🧈
-
10g smooth, unsweetened macadamia butter 🌰
-
80g buttermilk powder 🥛 (for a creamier, lower-cacao drink)
-
Pinch of unrefined salt 🧂 (optional)
-
½ tsp real vanilla extract powder 🌿 (or scrape seeds from ½ vanilla bean)
Method
-
Melt the chocolate, grass-fed salted butter, and macadamia butter together in a heatproof bowl over a bain-marie.
-
Remove from heat. Allow to cool slightly until just warm, but still fluid.
-
Stir in the buttermilk powder, vanilla, and salt (if using). Whisk or blend until smooth.
-
Spread the mixture onto a baking paper–lined tray about 1cm thick. Refrigerate until firm.
-
Chop into small chunks and store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
To serve: 🥛 Stir 30–35g of mix into 250ml hot milk until melted and creamy.
